Kennedy's Poetry ‣ The Mark of Masterpiece

Writer's picture: Kennedy SamaireKennedy Samaire

We were never the type to put a label on it

But I felt every beat of your heart when we'd admit

That maybe we were meant for more than just pretend

Now I'm left with memories that I can't defend

It's like a bittersweet melody

Playing in the depths of my mind

Can't shake this feeling of what used to be

No matter how hard I try

We were never officially together

But there was something it's undeniable

Now I'm stuck in this nostalgic weather

Missing what we had, it's unforgettable

Late nights and deep conversations in the dark

You were like a work of art, a masterpiece's mark

We danced on the line between love and friendship

Now I'm haunted by what I wish I could relive

It's like a bittersweet melody

Dancing through the corners of my soul

Can't escape this feeling of what used to be

No matter where I go

We were never officially together

But there was something, it's undeniable

Now I'm stuck in this nostalgic weather

Missing what we had, it's unforgettable

I never knew I could miss someone I never had

But here I am, lost in the love we never called
